What We Do

Back To School Prayer Rally

Our children are a precious resource both to us and to the Kingdom of God.  At the annual (September) rally, we cover students and teachers with prayer, lifting up our hands unto the Lord for their protection. “BTS” has become a community-wide gathering with local ministers, churches and choirs, community leaders and elected officials participating. God has given us favor with this targeted ministry; and walls between denominations are coming down through its purpose.

Bible Quizzing

Training a child in the ways of God is the foundation for our Bible Quizzing ministry (Deuteronomy 11:19, Proverbs 22:6). In Bible quizzing, children memorize a set group of verses and then do battle against other quizzing groups in a series of competitions.  This challenges their knowledge, as well as their ability to strategize.  There are divisions for each age group and skill level, and there is a final competition for a trophy and bragging rights as the best team of the year.  Bible Quizzing works in conjunction with Sunday School in many ways, like supporting annual Children's Holy Ghost rallies. The rallies provide an opportunity for children to make Jesus their Lord. Many children also receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4) at these events.

CBC (Christian Bible Chat) Groups

These relaxed and casual fellowship groups have been created to effectively disciple new Christians and make ways for church members to fulfill the great commission. We come together in homes, monthly, to discuss and teach Bible truth in order to meet people’s felt needs. In these hour-long settings, we include prayer and interceding for those who attend and for others not present. In short, we believe the power and drawing of God will affect salvation and healing in the lives of attendees.

Discipleship

Every soul is precious in the sight of God.  After conversion, being trained and walking in the light of God's word becomes paramount. In the Discipleship program, we partner with new believers to flesh out the plan and purpose God has for their life. Our dedication to them is to groom and develop active faith, and to exhort them to become effective disciples, established and strengthened by His word and through His Spirit.

Outreach

Ministry is not just found inside the four walls of the church. Our Outreach ministry goes out and engages with people in the streets. We meet every Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. (Memorial Day through Labor Day) to distribute tracts, provide our testimony and a warm smile, pray for people’s needs, and share the love of Jesus.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School mission is to build a biblical foundation in the lives of our children.  We strive to show kids, by example, how Jesus would want us to live and behave.  “But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14 (ESV).  Through Sunday School, leaders can be developed, lives transformed and the kingdom of God spread.

Prayer

Our commitment to seeking God’s face and will gives us clear vision for building His church and living His purpose. Just as it was in its infancy, the church is still called to devote herself to prayer (Acts 2:42); to let our requests be known, by prayer and supplication (Philippians 4:9); for God’s ears are open to righteous prayer (I Peter 3:12). Our prayer conference line is open on Tuesdays (9–10 p.m.); Thursdays (10–11 p.m.); Fridays (5–6 a.m.); and Saturdays (5–6 a.m.) Quarterly, we hold all-night prayer “shut-ins” at the church; and one Friday a month we meet for a “sweet hour of prayer”.
